Chaplains at Minster Abbey

At Minster Abbey, we are privileged to have daily Mass celebrated by a variety of priests who come to supply as chaplain on a short-term basis. Our system of temporary chaplains allows us to offer many priests to opportunity to make a retreat or have a quiet holiday at Minster Abbey free of charge in exchange for celebrating Mass for us. We cover the priests travelling expenses and offer a small stipend. The Chaplains room is a small bed-sit, with en-suite facilities and a small kitchenette. Meals are provided. The chapel is open throughout the day and our chaplain is welcome to share in the Divine Office.

We have found that our own prayer-life is enriched by contact with many priests, who each contribute in a unique way to our liturgy and our life. All chaplains are important to us and we remember them and their intentions in our prayer.
