Prayer & Praise

Prayer & Praise
Life today at Minster, as in the early days of St. Mildred is deeply rooted in prayer. Interior prayer and liturgical prayer lie at the heart of the contemplative life. It is through the celebration of the liturgy, reflection on the scriptures (lectio divina) and silent adoration that we are called to grow into a deep intimacy with Jesus Christ who is the centre of our lives.
Enclosure

Enclosure
Our life at Minster is lived within the enclosure of the monastery. St. Benedict urges us to "attend with the ears of your heart" to the voice of God speaking to us each day, in our prayer, in our work, and in our community life together. "If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts."
The Vows

The Vows
The vows are meant to help us to grow in our love for God, and to help us to be more receptive to His love. They are a channel of God's grace and daily call us to respond to that gift. As we live the monastic life we are gradually being transformed into the image of Christ
